Safe, clear communication, and horse partnership for all ages.

Welcome to HorseSense Education & Advocacy (HSEA)! Our riding program operates separately from the nonprofit.
Whether you're a first-time rider, a learner discovering the magic of horses, or an advanced rider, you'll find a place here to grow, connect, and thrive alongside our compassionate herd and caring instructors. We offer riding lessons and community events for all ages.
Well-rounded riders. Confident partners.
HorseSense Education helps riders become confident partners with their horses. Every lesson emphasizes effective communication, trust-building, and understanding the horse's perspective, not just technique.
Our structured curriculum welcomes students of all ages. We teach riding skills, barn safety, and horse knowledge through a progression that meets each student where they are and moves at the pace of true understanding.
We invite you to explore our lessons and programs, attend one of our upcoming events, and become part of our growing community.

FOCUSED INSTRUCTION

We teach students to understand the horse's perspective, body language, and needs before asking for advanced work.

Each student moves forward when they are truly ready.

The goal is a willing, trusting partnership. Ribbons and scores are never the measure of success.

Our program focuses on how to support you and your horse in building a confident and mindful relationship. Our teachers break down each goal to the fundamentals and help you present your ask of the horse in a way the horse can understand what you are wanting.
We can help you, no matter the breed, discipline, or background. Horse Sense gives the sense you need!
"It's all about relationship."
It's important to understand what the horse is going through while in a relationship with humans. Kristin will help you sort out the issues causing confusion between you and your equine. Horse Sense Educators will help you become a clear, confident partner and rider. You'll learn the proper feel, timing, and awareness necessary for the effective communication your horse needs.
With this spirit, Horse Sense offers horse owners consultations, training, and support.

Teams aren't created in a day. It takes practice, patience, and faith in your relationship. Racing is lots of fun! No bit, no spur, and no whip, but speedy fast and a horse in tune with their rider. It can be done!

Jumping is fun! Loose wrist, loose rein, allowing the horse to stretch. Super exciting when your horse enjoys it with you.
Most would say "come to me" is a very powerful concept to teach your horse. However, letting your horse know that it can find rest and relaxation when with you builds trust and relationship. Trust and relationship are everything, and even more powerful than "come to me."

Each horse is an individual. They all have different personalities, opinions, preferences, and educational backgrounds. Horses are intuitive, honest, and responsive, and let you know how you integrate into their lives by responding to what you present to them. As herd animals, they are highly social and empathic. They rely on one another for comfort, safety, and survival. They don't hold on to the past, though they remember. Horses are very present in the now.
Horses, in their inherent nature, have much to teach us about ourselves. We ask our community to approach this program with the intention and interest of learning from the equine's point of view.
