Mydun is a golden mare with a striking black mane and tail — the kind of horse who turns heads with her quiet beauty and gentle spirit. She has always been known as the dependable, steady one: the horse you send children to first, because she makes everyone feel safe.
Life hasn’t been easy for Mydun. She suffers from chronic pain that makes it difficult for her to move without help. She needs daily hands-on care: gentle walks, grooming to prevent adhesions, and support for her old bones and swelling legs. Without this level of attention, her body would quickly decline.
After her longtime owner suffered a stroke, Mydun was left without the consistent care she relied on. Today, she resides at Covered Bridge Equestrian Center, where she continues to receive the compassion and support she needs. But to remain there and live out her golden years with dignity, Mydun needs sponsors.
For many older horses, “retirement” simply means being turned out to pasture. While this can be a peaceful life for some, it would not meet Mydun’s needs. She is too frail to compete for food, too stiff to keep herself moving, and too vulnerable to thrive without attentive, daily care.
Sponsorship ensures that Mydun is not forgotten. It gives her a soft landing — the dignity, safety, and nurturing she deserves after a lifetime of service.
Monthly contributions provide for Mydun’s essential care:
Every contribution, no matter the size, directly supports Mydun’s health and comfort.
Supporters will be able to follow Mydun’s journey through updates on her care, her progress, and the quiet lessons she continues to offer about resilience, grace, and unconditional trust.
With the help of sponsors, Mydun can live her final years in peace, comfort, and love.
