BE A PART OF THE CONNECTION THAT HEALS
THE HORSES ARE OUR TEACHERS
Horse Sense Training:
Do you experience fear riding your horse?
Does your horse act up when you trailer?
Have you bought every bit on the market?
Is your horse gate, arena or barn sour?
Have Trainers said, “Get another horse”?
Kristin can help you. No matter what breed, discipline or background.
Horse Sense gives the sense you need!
As Kristin says, “It’s all about relationship.”
It is important to understand what the horse is going through while in a relationship with humans. Kristin will help you sort out issues causing confusion between you and your equine.
Horse Sense Educators will help you to become a clear confident partner and rider.
You will learn the proper feel, timing, and awareness necessary for the effective communication your horse needs.
With this spirit Horse Sense offers horse owners consults, training, and support.
Draw interest: Most would say, “Come to Me” is a very powerful concept to teach your horse. However, letting your horse know that it can find rest and relaxation when with you is building trust and relationship. Trust and relationship is everything and even more powerful than “Come to me.” Build on the Draw.
Teams aren't created in a day. It takes practice patience and faith in your relationship. Racing barrels is lot's of fun! As you see here, no bit, no spur and no whip, but speedy fast and a horse in tune with her rider.
It can be done!
Jumping is fun! Loose wrist rein, allowing the horse to stretch. Super exciting when your horse enjoys it with you.
The program focuses on how to support you and your horse build a confident and mindful relationship.
Our teachers break down each goal to the fundamentals and we help you present your ask of the horse in a way the horse can understand what you are wanting. We find where miscommunication is stemming from.
HORSES ARE OUR TEACHERS
Each horse is an individual. They all have different personalities, opinions, preferences, educational backgrounds. Horses are intuitive, honest and responsive and let you know how you integrate into their lives by responding to what you present to them. As herd animals, they are highly social and empathic. They rely on one another for comfort, safety and survival. They don't hold on to the past, though they remember. Horses are very present in the now.
Horses, in their inherent nature, have much to teach us about ourselves: The horses ask community to approach this program with the intention and interest of learning from the equine's point of view.
THANK YOU TO OUR WONDERFUL CLIENTS!
We just started lessons...this place is AMAZING!!! The owner (Kristin) is a beautiful person inside and out. I love watching her talk/teach my daughter. And I love the way my daughter responds to her. She is very excited to be learning all about horses. These animals are gorgeous and so powerful!! It’s amazing!!

One of the best decisions I have ever made for my little was to bring her here. She had "ridden" before, but since being here, she has learned it's not about "just riding." It is about connection, patience, perseverance, and understanding of the horses as well as herself. She is allowed to progress at her own pace and own her achievements as they come. I am grateful to Kristin and her girls for what they have done for this little girl

At first Horse Sense was one of the many local trainers I found while searching for riding lessons once my daughter expressed an interest.
I thought the physical exercise and practice in leadership would be perfect for my little girl, so I scheduled a lesson.
After our first meeting I knew my search for the right teacher was over!!
From the beginning Kristin established her training involved more than just riding skills and includes a well-rounded knowledge and practice of horsemanship.
Over the years my daughter and I have learned how to groom, feed and care for horses, how their anatomy works and what may cause various illness, how the seasons can affect their temperament and diet, what proper educate looks like around other riders, and how to approach, communicate and listen to the horses without making them frustrated or uncomfortable.
Kristin organizes events and obstacle courses to challenge the kids to play safely with these beautifully large animals.
We've celebrated holidays at the barn, decorating stalls and dressing up our horsey friends who were having fun with us.
Each lesson has provided my child with so much joy, much needed outdoor time, and a true sense relief.
These horse's happiness in compliance with the rider often brought even me a sense of bliss, and all I had to do is be there to witness it.
After a few months I couldn't help but sign up for lessons myself!!
I had taken riding lessons as a kid, and I remember being told horses are much bigger than me and won't feel my touch so act big and kick hard for the animal to notice my cues.
Horse Sense teaches the rider to communicate with the subtle change of excited energy, and it actually works!! Getting these horses to follow my lead rather than scaring them into motion is a skill worth more than it's value in dollars, and the kinship that naturally forms between horse and rider is a blessing on its own.
In addition to her extensive knowledge, Kristin accurately interprets her student's comfort level and makes adjustments to her approach accordingly. From what I've seen, she's never forced a child to do something they're not comfortable trying and often FOMO (fear of missing out) is enough to encourage them to push that boundary on their own, in the safest most comfortable way possible.
Horse Sense provides the perfect gateway for anyone interested in taking a step into the life of horsemanship. Kristin's years of experience and commitment to horses and the community make this transition in education smooth and effortless.
It has truly been the most satisfying investment I've made, and I'll look forward to continuing my family's education there for as long as we possibly can!!
